A new sketch and something special from someone else

I'm finally starting to sketch again and one turned out to be a decent
Brisby. I started with the head before I knew I'd be trying to draw a body,
and I attempted a slight bit of foreshortening with the camera low to the
ground near the feet (came out kind of odd since the angle didn't match eventually)

Also, I've found a recent incredible piece of Brisby that was just posted.
(Warning, while the Brisby art link is rated for everyone, if you visit his
homepage there will be other more mature artwork, minor stuff from him and possible other artists favorited on the front page)

I told him how much I liked it and asked if this was in response to the new
DVD and that maybe he could do a new cover as he'd be
disgusted with the reuse of that horrible new art. And I hit the nail on the
head as he did get the new DVD, and the bad art did inspire this new
drawing, and he plans to do more and eventually a new cover for himself
and would post and share. Something to look forward too :)

Your art looks cool, I remember when you said that you would draw Mrs Brisby a little to young, this one rocks 8)

You should share more of your art with us. It's wonderful stuff.

I just had to comment on the link. It's by far one of the finest works of fan-art I've ever seen. Truly beautiful. There's just something about Mrs. Brisby's character that is so powerful, unlike any other character I've seen in animation and story telling.

This image really illustrates that. She's so emotional, so fragile, and so innocent. She's this tiny creature living in a world so much bigger than herself, struggling to save her child's life. She's so full of love, so pure. It's beautiful.

That's great artwork! The "Floating" one... Nice composition of colours and shades... And I've also got a feeling that she might be thinking of Johnatan in the moment... Or... Maybe...
