I'm thinking about getting off my lazy butt and starting work on a very loooong fanfic. I'm probably going to need more than just ideas and editors on this. i'm going to need somebody, maybe more than one, to keep on my butt to finish writing it.
Here's the idea. It's a three part story, each with several chapters, that follows Justin and Jonathan Brisby from before NIMH, during NIMH, the escape, the wandering, settling in the rosebush, Jonathan's finding Mrs. Brisby, and ending somewhere around Jonathan's 'death'. I haven't decided that last one yet. Basically, i'm not going to focus too much on the mystical elements of the story, although they will be there. I was actually shooting for something written in more of the Paul Gibbs style, and trying to keep as close to along the lines of the original characters as possible. The story, if it's written, will pull heavily on elements from the book, such as the tests or the Boneface estate, but there's still a lot of gaps i'm going to have to fill. Like i said, an epic, so to speak.
If anyone would like to give me a hand with ideas, writing, editing, (and the eventual illistrations, but i think i can get that covered) let me know. I really want to get this off the ground, but i need help doing it.
Oh, by the way, the title i've chosen is simply: The Secret of NIMH: In The Beginning. Part one: Rats, Mice, and a Place Called NIMH, Part Two: Exodus, and Part Three: Jonathan Brisby and the Rats of NIMH. Other than that i have a few outlines and some started writings, but not much at this point.
