As I've already indicated in the "On the fan-fiction balcony" topic, circumstances have dictated that I post my next fan-fiction here instead of at Robin's. So here it is, after this brief intro. I hope you enjoy it.

Rather than eliminate this topic completely, I’ll use it for my own commentary on the story.
In comparing it to my original version, this version is, as with “Search for Johnathan,” longer. The basic plot is the same, with some scenes expanded upon. A couple of scenes toward the end were largely imported from my First-Tier story from 1986-87, “The Hidden Conflict”: Madeline announcing she’s pregnant, and the last one with John admiring the sunrise and he and Maddie being “attacked.”
Since the original version was shorter, I didn’t divide it into chapters, but in what would become chapter 3 I added the marriage announcement and Justin’s offer to the Brisbys to preside over it, the beach scene, and overall expanded upon the family’s first day in Thorn Valley.
