Greetings all. I've never posted any fanfiction of my own but I'm no stranger to it, having been one of the contributors to Timothy Fay's The NIMH File (see Simon's intro to the John Cawley article) back in the pre-internet days of 1986. Been writing 'em ever since, just about half my life. (creak!) Does anyone know if T.F. is still actively involved in NIMH fandom? Have been enjoying "Secret of the Stone" and fanfiction in Robin's archive, tho not as much as I'd like since my computer time is limited. "The Final Experiment"--fantastic! Hope Marcus can complete it someday. More later!

Ah, cool! Good to hear from another "well seasoned" fan. :) One of these days I'd like to post a more thorough description of what was in the NIMH file (though probably not the whole thing, because of copyright), and it's cool to hear from someone who was involved in it.

As for Timothy Fay, he's still around; I've contacted him at one point or another about the NIMH File, though he isn't particularly involved in the NIMH fandom at the moment (as far as I know, anyway). Regardless, probably the best starting point for looking around for him is the WikiFur page on him: http://en.wikifur.com/wiki/Timothy_Fay

Glad you could join us. :)

Thanks, Simon, for your prompt reply. I sent you an email on 9/15 but if this is the first you've heard from me you evidently never received it. I also sent one to Procyon with feedback on "SOTS", and one to Marcus on "NTFE", but now I'm wondering if any of them got thru. I'll confess to being inexperienced at email but I'm positive I did everything right. (creak!)

Anyway, I am interested in the possibility of posting some of my own work, either here or on Robin's (is there a definite merger in the future?), so please pass along details on how. I Googled Tim Fay some time ago and was able to track down his own site (tho I don't have the address handy). From that he doesn't appear to be involved in NIMH fandom, but I may try to drop him a line sometime. I've also tried to track down Juan Alfonso, another NIMH File contributor with whom I had a regular correspondence in the late 80s, but so far no luck. You listening, amigo? By the way, Simon, enjoyed what little of "Return to NIMH" there was; hope your long-form sequel is just as good. Will it be based on the book series as well? Thanks again and more later.

Well, I don't see anything from you on 9/15, even in my junk folder. So I'm not sure what happened. Feel free to send again, or to use the forum system to send a message with your email address in it, and I'll reply that way.

Oh, that's easy. Just email it to me and I'll get it posted soon. And yeah, I've been thinking of merging Robin's site into Thorn Valley (and introduce a more do-it-yourself submission system) to make things easier for me to manage for a while, but I haven't quite gotten to that point yet. Most of the time I'm kinda burnt out on web-stuff since that's what I do at work, and things have been quiet enough that I haven't worried about it.

Heh, glad you enjoyed it... though I'll admit, what you see posted was written close to a decade ago, and I haven't had much motivation to work on it some more, mostly because after about the first few chapters of outlining, I ran out of steam. So I have a beginning, a few events that'd be cool to work in, but no ending and no real way of wrapping all of it together. And my muses have been pretty quiet lately, probably because I haven't been reading as much as I used to. Ah well. Anyway, thanks again. :)

From this old timer, thanks, Whiskers57, for your welcome aboard, youngster. I have yet to check out Paul Gibbs' work but have heard nothing but raves. Am preparing my own work for posting & hope to have something up by the end of the year.

Hope to soon see your works David, I think what most stick in my mind as I read Paul Gibbs Fan-Fic is that Mrs Birsby after the injection becomes some thing I would never think she would be.

Hey, Whiskers57, I guess I made your day, maybe even your year. I just noticed on another forum that you gave your age as 52 last year, and here I am calling you "youngster"! I turned 52 this past June, by the way.

Never to old to be a fan of great animation, NIMHmaniac is older than me, I have no problem older fans or younger. but it seemed you were on the internet way before me, I bought my first computer in 2004 and found my NIMH fandom was more than just me.

No, you've definitely put in far more online time than me. Any real Internet activity from me pretty much began this past year. At present I don't even have my own computer.

I was so against computers for years I saw no need for them only at work, Then one of my old friends stopped by from out of state and talked me into buying a computer and helped me to get on line and all that lingo and stuff that I have no idea of

I`m still learning.

My childhood was enjoying the old animated cartoons from the 60`s, Computers for all were the stuff of SiFi movies.
