Introductions....finally, something I'm good at, talking about myself licheeky grinli.
I am Dingo, otherwise known as Kate, how the nickname Dingo came about I'm none too sure, but its there nonetheless. I am a 21 year old Don Bluth obsessee, and have been afflicted with this fantastic obsession for oh...17-18 year of my life, if not more. Now, when I say I'm a Bluth obsessee, I mean OBSESSED, all his works from Disney, pretty much everything but his short resume of videoo games. But I digress...
My NIMH obsession started moreso with the book than the movie, and I didn't not find that until the summer between third and fourth grade. You see, we had just moved, I had just turned 9, and it was summer. I had no friends, so, of course, the introverted child I was....I curled up on a couch in the AC and read the summer away. Everything from Stuart Little to Of Mice and Men (I like to brag that I read such profound things as a child, but now I read nothing but crap, it seems....I was working intelligence out of my system at a young age). It was somewhere within August, school looming over my head, that I sat in my bathroom, at 3am, perched on the countertop with my feet in the sink (filled with warm water, it was a strange habit, but it kept my poor feet warm...) and read Mrs.Frisby and the rats of NIMH. I finished it in a single night, slept, then reread it again over the course of two days. School began and I read it yet again a month later to do a book report and diorama project on it. The newfound obsession faded to be less fenatical over time, I assure you...
Through elementary school I read other books about intelligent animals....I am Leaper, Zucchini, etc etc. But I kept returning to NIMH. Now, I never could find the Rasco book, or the other (to this day I have no read them), but in 8th grade, surrounded by new geeky peers, I found Brian Jaques. Now, I will be the first to admit I'm not a HUGE fan of the Redwall books, I haven't read them all, and my attention waned through most of them...the only I read with relish was Mossflower. I would like to attempt reading them again, but its a matter of time now, moreso than anything.
High school had me abandon my books for online roleplay, play by post forums and the like, Redwall, Pern, free form fantasy, wolves...and I still have a huge onslaught of new characters come to mind from time to time. My imagination has never given me reason to curse it.
Now, I'm slowly working my own character into a fan fiction type story, based on the events leading up to the escape from NIMH and the creation of the catacombs beneath the thorn bush, and searching for a NIMH themed play-by-post (with many a thought of creating my own [I'm not so good with mucks, you see]) to drag a few of my rats and mice into.
In due time, I will drag the main characters up for you all to see, for now they are faceless creatures, heh. I do realize I'm fairly verbose, and I apologize, boredom tends to bring out the flowery writing.
But for now, know that you will be introduced to Icarus (squirell), Puck (mouse), Echo (otter), Reiden (rat), Monroe (rat), and Quinn(rat). A combination of Redwall inspired and NIMH inspired characters that have held to my heartstrings since I first dabbled at their character designs when I was 12 or so (Obviously they've evolved just a bit since then.)
Well, thats me, in a nutshell.

Heh, your story sounds a lot like mine... Anyway, welcome to Thorn Valley, Dingo!
Hmm... you're not the first to mention a forum for roleplaying... Maybe I ought to put up a poll and guage interest. Could be interesting to have something new.

Welcome to the Valley. About MUCKs, I'm not too good on them, myself. But I try anyway and somehow manage the basics without big screwups. It never hurts to try, but it's your decision, not mine.

I'm a forum RPG pro (not to toot my own horn, heh) I've been at them really, dabbling at least, since I was 11 or so.....10 solid years....if only I could toss that on a work resume...
Somehow "Can write multi-paragraph response posing as 4 inch female rat with advanced mental prowess" doesn't seem it would be a smart thing to advertise to future employers...
But YES, I've had a hard time finding actual active NIMH discussions (though, I honestly don't look very hard, I happened along Thorn Valley by accident while lookig for a picture on google of a thornbush, heh. But I'm VERY glad to be here.
Forgive an elongated disappearance for a week or so, driving from CA back to NH tomorrow with my kitty cat and my trusty little Dodge Stratus, but once I'm back, expect a picture or twelve of my woodland lovlies....

Hate to ask, but what do you mean by 'advanced mental prowess'? :?
Though I'd probably hire someone with that, proves they can communicate with people.

Means I'm good at using the rocks rolling around in my head liraps on her skull with her knuckles only to have the noise echoli or was it cobwebs?
Basically mental prowess means smarts.

Ah. I think most of us are like that.
Though sometimes I wonder if I should include myself (not my char) in that statement.
