Excuse me, Pardon me, I'm new here

I've actually been lurking the forum for some time before joining. Born in 1980 I was but a toddler when I first saw this excellent film and it still left an impression on me in many ways.

For one I think it introduced me to the idea of animals as living things not much different from we humans whom struggle to survive and feel love, fear, and all the things we do.

It gave me a standard to which all animation should be held and has made me a lifelong lover of animation.

I also learned the hard way that VHS degrades if you watch it on a daily basis. :roll:

Currently I'm an art student and a webcomic author. NIMH seems to be an influence in my writing as well as art. THough I'm far from Don Bluth's level of skill and outright genious.

I also am hoping that MGM may some day wise up and offer us a proper DVD release of Secret of NIMH. But I shouldn't spill everything here as I'll have nothing left to say in the rest of the forum.

In short, here I am, beat me with the bats of initiation.

Welcome to Thorn Valley. For the record, I know what you mean about degrading VHS tapes. That's why I had to get Star Wars episode I on DVD.
