Hello,
My name is Shane Parker. I've been lurking for a while now on the forums, and decided I might as well make myself known.
I've only been a real fan of Secret of Nimh for maybe a few months. I suppose the first time I saw the movie was when I was a child, but I can't remember exactly when. It's strange, because all through my childhood I mostly ignored the film.
A few months back I was given the opportunity to see the film again - for probably the first time in many, many years. I was amazed. I couldn't understand how I managed to ignore such an amazing work of art for so long. I've probably watched the film dozens of time since then, and every time I see it I find something new to enjoy about it. I have become a Don Bluth fan because of this film. I could probably go on for hours just talking about it... But I will save that for later, perhaps.
Lastly I would like to say that this is probably the finest fan website for Secret of Nimh. Thanks, Simon. You've definately put a lot of work into it, and it shows.

Welcome Shane,
I agree, the movie just keeps on tugging on your heart strings, great story, great animation.
I`m an animation freak, but the "Secret of NIMH" just will not be taken over, even after all these years. :)
Have a great time here!! :D

That seems like the way I became a SoN fan. I first saw it in fourth grade, but it only stayed with me for a couple of weeks. Just long enough for me to rent the sequel and have my parents copy it (I still have no regrets because Jenny was a pretty good character in it). After that, I could care less until late last July when I caught it on Toon Disney's Big Movie Show. I've been a serious fan ever since.
