I'm new to the forum, and I love "The Secret of NIMH"! I originally watched the movie during 1990 (?), while I was enrolled in an Extended Day program. I was so fascinated by the movie that I carried a red Bed Bugs game piece around with me all day long, pretending that it was the amulet! ':lol:' I always had a wild imagination, but these days, one of my grandmother's old earrings more approximately resembles the amulet, and I just recently put a chain through the bent-down post of that earring!

I think that Elizabeth Hartman was the perfect voice for Elizabeth Brisby, and I think that her desperate suicide was sad, considering the fact that she was talented enough to have brought Mrs. Brisby to life for so many movie enthusiasts.

In my estimation, the only other actress whose voice ever approximated that of Elizabeth Hartman was Lynn-Holly Johnson, who played the role of Jan in Disney's "The Watcher in the Woods".

I wish that a 30th Anniversary DVD version of "The Secret of NIMH" had been released, as I don't have a Blu-Ray player, but I have the latest DVD release of the movie (circa 2007?), so I have been able to enjoy the movie, the commentary, etc.

Well, I'm glad to know that there are other "Secret of NIMH" fans out there!
