I'm in the process of switching my domains from GoDaddy to Namecheap. GoDaddy came out in support of SOPA a while ago and while they caved under pressure from their users, I don't particularly care for other aspects of their business either. In short, it's been a long time coming, and this thing finally got my dander up enough to combat my laziness.
Anyway, you may see a bit of downtime as the transfer is in process. I'm hoping to avoid any downtime, but we'll see.
Edit: Okay, thornvalley.com has switched to the new provider. There was some downtime while DNS switched along with it (should've used a third party DNS, ah well), but everything should be back to normal.

Nope. The change should be invisible to you.

I've dealt with GoDaddy support for clients before, and it leaves much to be desired.

I've never had to deal with their support, but I keep hearing the horror stories. So far I'm liking NameCheap better; since I run Thorn Valley off of a dynamic IP, it used to be that the @ records would get out of date (I used a CNAME pointing to dyndns for everything else). NameCheap actually has it where they'll redirect the @ record to a URL of your choosing, so http://thornvalley.com works more consistently.
