I recently made an account on Findagrave.com,mostly because I had found a person rather important to all of us - Mrs. Elizabeth "Biff" Hartman
The site did have an intresting system that allowed users to leave virtual flowers with notes to any deceased person , so I decided to do so, and this was what I wrote
"Whats it like in Heaven? Must be a nice place,m'lady. Its a real shame that you lived and died before I was even born, there will never be another actress who will be as graceful as you, its sad really,Madame. But one thing is certain, you won't be forgotten, and no one truly dies unless they are forgotten."

What a wonderful tribute... Indeed as far as I am concerned, Mrs. Hartman will never be forgotten. For a lot of us here in the NIMH community, her last role was perhaps her greatest.

I think so also, I would see some of her movies and the voice would ring of Mrs Brisby (when you close your eyes) but while watching it`s Hartman acting in the movie, I love watching some of her older ficks.

^ I remember when I first watched "The Beguiled" I had known very little about the film and didn't think it was going to be any good - until I saw Elizabeth's name in the opening credits and thinking it was awesome.

That was a very sweet thing for you to do.

If you guys are like me and have no taste, you should rent "Full Moon High" on Netflix. It's a B movie horror-comedy with terrible acting, but I could tell she had a lot of fun with her role.

It's so obscure that I'll doubt it would be available for instant streaming. It will probably be available for rent though.

That movie is awesome, not to mention F'ing hilarious.
I always remembered the scene in which Mrs. Montgomery(Hartman) is trying to call the cops and she gets put on hold.

Teehee...I especially liked the part (dunno if I can say this or not, but I am anyway) when she screams "Come back here, you premature ejlililililitor!" The scene when she dances and the scene where she turns into a werewolf are fun too.
Edit: added lis to the quote.
Edit 2: I checked and it IS on Netflix instant streaming. My girlfriend and I watched it tonight.

I watched "You're a Big Boy Now" a couple of weeks ago. She can really play sllitty roles well as well. :o The whole movie is on YouTube for those who are interested.
It has that 60's charm to it that some may either find timeless or excruciating. Though it's funny to see our timid mother mouse turn into what's essentially a James Bond lady. However, instead of flililiing around with a charismatic super spy, she's messing around with a sexually confused city boy.

Man, what a tribute!
Rest in Peace, Mrs. Brisby. You too, Jeremy. And Jerry Goldsmith.

She has a very Midwestern look on her face. I'll admit I wouldn't call her "attractive," rather I would call her "cute." She does have a pleasing look on her face. A pity that she committed suicide. I honestly wonder how she would feel that her most famous role is one where she isn't even shown on screen. She probably couldn't have imagined that NIMH would be such a cult hit. I wonder how she would respond to her fandom.

When I first watched this movie I had no Idea who she was, I have seen her in movies but never payed that much heed to it.
that voice! with just that slight shakiness to it, I thought that made the character more real and makes you feel more for her.

I forget whether I saw Full Moon High or Secret of NIMH first. I remember being pretty young when I saw NIMH, I don't really remember how young. Probably between 7-9 years old. I've also seen The Beguiled (for Clint Eastwood, not for her) and You're a Big Boy Now. I have yet to see The Walking Tall, The Fixer, or A Patch of Blue. I don't really plan to either.
Her best role (that I've seen, I'm sure A Patch of Blue is better) is probably The Beguiled. Her and Eastwood have some cool chemistry. I especially liked that she is the reason his foot got cut off. A pity she didn't get to marry him though, he shouldn't have flililied with that little girl's turtle.
Oh, and that scene with her and Page getting it on....nice...

I think I may have first seen her in Walking Tall (early 70`s) at time I had no interest in who she was, little did I know that about ten years later...
