I just wanted to put up a note that I've finally updated my, admittedly very poor compared to Thorn Valley, web page. This includes all of my NiMH related art. If you're interested, take a look at it.

I'm not much of an artist but I still want feedback.
(forgive me if the link doesn't work, this is my first attempt at BBCode.)
Oh, and if never introduced myself, I'm Mavik Felna. I play Shiandra Sulivan on NiMHmuck on the rare occasion I'm there. Otherwise, um, check my website for more info. :)
Oh, and before I forget, please sign up for the NiMH Yahoo Group! Since I'm the moderator now I need to try and build membership, since nothing is going on there lately. You can find it at:

Thanks,

PS: Hey Simon, I'm having trouble figuring out the Wiki stuff. If I've screwed up the sample page and such, I'm sorry. Maybe I'll just post my stuff to the forum instead.

Nice, definitely a good start. Very likely better than just about anything I could do, anyway, as far as the art goes :)

That's why the "Preview" button is your friend. :) But it looks like you've got it down.

Well, best of luck with your yahoo group... just so you're aware, however, there is at least one existing group/mailing list devoted to NIMH:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nimhfans/[]http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nimhfans/ The list hasn't had any emails (except for the auto-mailing of the FAQ every month) for a
very long time. Most of the discussion seems to be on the few forums on the various NIMH sites.

No biggie... I'm really not very pleased with the wiki package that I'm currently using, anyway (I don't like the syntax, and the way it handles security doesn't agree with me very well). I'll very likely switch to a different one in the near future.

I doubt my art is even a close match for yours, but thank you for the encouragement.
And yea, there are actually 15 yahoo groups with a NiMH bent of some kind. None are active really. But like mailing lists more than forums for alot of things since I check my email alot more than I check forums. But I figured since I gook over managment of NiMH I may as well try and promote it and see if we could get something started. After all, the fandom needs to know what's out there and other people need to be able to find it they're going to join to the fandom. :D
And the thing that I don't like about Wiki thus far is I'm not sure how to start a new page correctly and get it posted for others to read. And I'd like to be able to see some sort of version history on pages so you can go back and see what others have done. This may all be in there but I'm just new enough to wiki to not have a clue where to look for it.
Anyway, thanks again for your nice comments and for running the forum and pages here.

Trust me. I admire anyone who can draw Secret of NIMH fan art. I've tried my hand at it a couple of times, and while I do an okay job at copies or tracings, I can't do original stuff... Perhaps if I spent some time practicing... lishrugli Anyway, my talent tends to lie in using existing drawings and improving them by coloring them or compositing them in some way with Photoshop. Useful, certainly, but there are times when I'd like to be able to do it from start to finish.

Well, like I said, good luck to you. At least your group has an RSS feed, so I might at least subscribe to that... I've recently added RSS feeds to the forum so I'm hoping that will help people that want to keep track of the board do so without having to visit every day. I've been using the system myself to test things out and it's worked quite well.

The only thing that you need to do to start a new page is create a new Wiki Link (using WordsSmashedTogether or a {{free link}}) on an existing page that doesn't point to another existing page. Once the page is saved, that link will show up with a question mark next to it. Click the question mark and you'll be able to create the new page.
Revision history is accessed through the "Page History" link at the bottom of each page. You can even revert the page to a previous state from this page.
The wiki was definitely an experiment, and as I said, it doesn't quite fit my needs. I will very likely replace it with another wiki package, but I like the idea enough to keep it around until then.
