Looks like he had got the sentence fair enough. He had died today by hanging. He was 69 when executed.

The question is, will this make things better in Iraq, or worse.

So the mess that was created in the cold war is finally starting to get fixed.. Well, at least one thing was solved, but two wrongs (badly planned wars) still don't make a right, in my opinion.

But, I digress..

There wasn't any reason for us to go to Iraq. True, we hated Saddam and he wasn't enjoying us, but he didn't do anything to us to make Bush move our troops there from Afghanistan. And now we've got more trouble than we can handle. If you ask me, sometimes I think Bush should join Saddam on the gallows. :x

This is my opinion, so be kind if this offends. The whole Iraq mission is pretty much for one thing...Oil.

Since the United States no longer can produce it internally, they need it from other sources. Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait and even my beloved Canada with my home provinces massive 300+ year supply of the black gold. The majority of Canadian oil is in Fort McMurry's Tar Sands. A testament to the U.S.s need of oil was the after math of Hurricane Katrina. The National Oil Reserve was to last a month or so during a state of emergency. However, that same oil reserve was totally toast with in a week following the Hurricane. That shows how much oil is consumed during an emergency, what if oil exports from abroad stopped completely? America would fall very quickly into anarchy as so described in the early Mel Gibson Mad Max films.

Well I went a little over-board with the Mad Max stuff, but hey... Is it really that far fetched?

Kind of odd to drudge up an old topic to give an opinion you're afraid might offend, isn't it?

The entire thing about a shortage of oil due to Katrina was a scam. They hiked the prices of gas, scared people into getting it. Atlanta drivers were paying 6.50$ for gas because of that. No more than an excuse. The question that is not answered is this: They need gas down there, yes...but so much in one area that it effects the rest of the SouthEastern United States? No! There's no possible way they could need that much gas. The US has more oil than most of the common public thinks. Katrina was just an excuse to jack up prices, which is illegal itself. At the time, I worked in a rental store, and several of the gas station owners came in to rent movies and told us exactly what was really happening. There was no 'scare' but one driven by our own government.

Another thing that does not add up to this gas scare is the fact there are 55 types of gasoline formulas depending on where a person lives in the US. The formulas are different based on the environment conditions. Gas sent to areas where the environment is cleaner is dirtier in emissions. Gas sent to areas where the environment is dirtier is cleaner in emissions. Plus, all 55 formulas have a winter mixture and a summer mixture. Environmentally controlled by their own regulations--I don't believe they'd ship these different formulas to just the Katrina effects areas.

Second...'our' oil is in...Saudi Arabia isn't it? Sure, Saddam might have invaded Saudi Arabia to get oil, but come on.

And...as for the US Not able to produce its own oil...within the last 2 years, a new reserve was found in Utah.

Hmm, hadn't know about Utah. Still, Saudi Arabia provides the bulk of over seas imports for the United States.
