Okay, this topic has been on the news lately, so I'd like to talk about it.
Recently an Asian coutry tested its nuclear weapons under ground. As a result (even though there is not exact proof that this was the exact cause), radiation was found in a country close by.
Japan has had enough with nuclear weapons already. I've heard about making nuclear weapons to scare other countries, but now it has actually been tested.
It's sad to think that people learned about the fears of these weapons but took it to the wrong direction. People used them as threats to the enemies. The opponent did the same.
In an ideal world, everyone was supposed to understand its fears and decide not to make them under any circumstances.
Global warming is not the only thing we need to be worried about now. I mean these weapons can destroy everything.
It's more than just a tractor...
We need to stop these weapons from destroying the world before the whole world gets "cut out" by it.

Very well spoken!
And I totally agree. These things need to be gotten rid of, they only cause pain and sorrow. No good can come out of them.
I'm glad to see that someone agrees with me, though I do think the global warming needs taken care of as well; It's killing the polar bears. :/

Down with the nukes. We haven't had any real use for them since the first times we used them in WW2. All they were good for in the Cold War was intimidation. Nuclear stuff should only be used for peaceful purposes (Nuclear power). These nuclear weapons are just big toys that are more trouble than they're worth. Sure, they'll end the war, but it will also end the human race.
Nuclear war is the ultimate lose-lose situation. Don't do it.

I myself have always felt that we need to rid ourselves of the nuclear threat. No good can come from havinng these weapons around. In fact just the opposite will occur. With nuclear warheads scattered all over the globe, it is damn near impossible to account for all of them therefore one does not need to stretch the imagination too far to think of what could happen if some madman in some rogue state got a hold of one of these weapons.
Peace :D

Nuclear weapons will only end the war. They won't help you win one anymore. I heard that in the Cold War, Russia and the U.S. had enough nukes between them to destroy the earth, over 80 times.
Kind of makes you glad we dismantled most of ours, even though we still have more than anyone else.

I found this crazy video on the web if you want to see. But I warn you, it is rated either PG-13 or R. I think it is more on PG-13, but I'll let you mature people decide on that.

The Rating is purely because of bad language. So there's no nudity or violence (unless you count all the flying nukes).

I hear ya NIMHmaniac, I to wish all nuclear weapons to be null and void, I know you (NIMHmaniac) remember the 1962 "Cuban Missile crisis" when we where kids, I was afraid then (heck, the whole freaking world was), but the two big nuclear powers backed off from a horrible war, Now that the nukes maybe everywhere and how they will use them is unclear, as the two super powers showed restraint in the cold war, today I fear this threat even more.
My birthplace is the only place that "the bomb" was used and that was on the main island of Honshu japan, Nagasaki and Hiroshima, even tho my mom and dad were where Americans, I grew up to love that land.
Lots more than a tractor in these times.

This reminds me when my mom told me about the Russians and the Americans. Two huge missiles aimed at each other, but when the fight ended, they had not fired the missiles at all.

I apologize for problems with the link I put up there. After getting to that link, I went to 'top rated' in the flash charts section. The movie is titled 'The end of the...' (as of this post it's number 25).
Sorry, I've only just noticed the problem with that link. I would have thought the link would have taken you right to the video.

It's interesting that this topic is now a subject of discussion, and even more interesting that everyone's weighing in on the side of disarmament.
While I agree that nukes really have no useful purpose in a country's arsenal...the genie's out of the bottle and there's no use trying to cram it back in.
Anti-weapon proliferation treaties or disarmament treaties are only going to be as effective as the nations signing them want them to be. And if we've got to rely on an international organization to ensure compliance, well...given how well international organizations have handled North Korea up to this point (and let's not forget Iran!)...you'll forgive my skepticism. :?
