I meant to put this up days ago.

Its been awhile since I was on the Muck and the day after i finally got back on this Incident happened which I thought of all people out there all you SoN fans would appreciate the story.

I go to a figure drawing class on Thursday nights. Last Thursday during our first break, I noticed that what was thought to be a dust bunny on a windowsill, started moving. Turns out it was a tiny fieldmouse. When we tried to catch it , it ran under a radiator and we figured that was that.

Now I've seen mice before. No big deal. But usually they run away and won't come out till you're gone.
When we went back to our spots to draw again, the mouse ran from its spot, around the model's stage , straight to me and either tried to climb my soda cup(big gulp type) or was actually trying to get at the soda itself.
It wouldn't let anyone catch it but althrough the class it just ran and walked amoung us like we weren't there.

In fact at one point , one of the artists across from me , happened to reach down for another peice of charcoal and there was the mouse , quietly sitting on his lap as if to say "hi. what ya doin?" As he reached for it, the mouse ran down his leg and back under the models' stage.

At another point in the evening, the model, who was posing ,facing my way says to me," You better turn around and have a look" I did and there was the mouse trying to get into my art/book bag.( this was odd because I had no food or snacks in there)

In the last hour of class, the artist who runs the class, decided to put down a small bag of potato chips, with the thought that the mouse would run in , he would close the bag and put it outside.
Didnt work that way. The mouse ran in and snatched a chip three times its size and ran to a opening between a support post and the floorboards.

After time was up , we spent the last fifteen minutes watching this very determined mouse push, pull, and shove that potato chip into the hole.
Took it awhile but it did it.

As it was, I told the head guy that I just put it down as we got two models to draw and he cracked up laughing when i showed him my sketches for the night. Apparently I was the only one who thought to draw the mouse as well.

That is indeed a strange, but funny story. I loved it. I would also like to commend you and your fellow classmates for not resorting to the typical panic reaction when confronted with this rather odd situation. This is especially true for the classmate whom you describe as reaching for a piece of charcoal only to find the mouse sitting right in his lap. As I've stated in a previous post, as full grown human beings, you are a lot bigger, heavier, and stronger than any mouse.

Peace :D

Cool Incident. Wish I was there. Was the mouse very cute, or are you afraid to post it?
My money says the mouse liked your class and wanted to make a lot of big friends to protect him if a mad scientist comes along (okay maybe not quite that far). Well at least he succeeded in making at least one powerful friend.

I like the story, as mice they can just dissapear and what they think who knows, at home years ago a mouse always came back, I tossed my cowboy on him and nabbed him, took him back into wild, but we started see him again and he started to be like us , You know, was not afriad and would almost walk down hall with us, but you could never pick him up or snuggle him, lots of wild still there, but some small amout of tust to a point. :? .

Footnote to the story.

I asked the head guy last night about the mouse. He said it was weirdest thing. One of the other teacher artists had "caught" it but not like you think.

She had put down a small board and actually just called the mouse to her. The mouse ran out onto the board and allowed the teacher to put it outside without incident. It seemed so tame everyone wondered if it really was someones pet.

As for me, wondering if Lou's char has some bearing in reality after all. Didnt see any polearm, but evidently the mouse liked drawings and /or artists and seemed to go after my cherry coke after all.
