We will enjoy it together, That`s my job and I love it :)
Ah yes, air shows; lovely activities, nice looking planes, and tons of greecy food!
I hope I get a chance to visit my local air show this year, we haven't been paying much visits lately. Enjoy yours, though.

You work at a flight test center? That is so freakin' awesome. I don't think there are any air shows in my area. But I did spend a night aboard an aircraft carrier from WW2 and got a closeup look at some new and old planes.

Yeh, it started with my dad, an aircraft welder who started his job in 1947 and years after I was born he would take me to his work place from time to time, and I fell in love with the old gals, B-47, B-36 and so on, so in the end as a kid I said I will do this some day, but now I`m not a welder as my pop, but I work the power generator systems.
BTW, I love the aircraft carrier my uncle, dad`s older brother served on one in WW2 .
I`ve never got to walk the deck of those old gals (aircraft carriers), my brother is navy and one is army an I`m Air force.

An unsung hero.
Keep those birds in the air. Thanks from all those enjoying a life sheltered from those who would change it for the worse.
I'll add you and your brothers to those I send fond wishes to.

Hey, luck with that show. Fraid the distance is a bit much for me, but we've got em up here to.

I spent a night aboard a WW2 Aircraft carrier. I have also flown in a C-130. Other than that, I have no military exposure. Unless you count my semester of AFJROTC in my freshman year of high school.

I do`nt think so, I can`t find me in any of those pics, the air show is held on main base (fighters, cargo) and I work at southBase (bombers, UAV`s) even tho our bombers will fly in the air show and we will have static displays of our aircraft, to venture in to to wrong part of the hood is to get messed with (in fun), but on open house we all get together and show our "stuff". So it`s most unlikely that anybody want to take a pic of this NIMH fan roaming around the show with a cup of daft beer in his hand and enjoying the show :)

Naw I`m not a pilot, tho that would be cool to test fly the latest birds, I`m part of the ground support, the pilot just hops in and flys, we may spend days getting the aircraft ready, with all shops working on it for a certain test, then the pilots come and fly a 2 hour test flight.
When we were moved to south base AGE, in 2001 there was talk of a new mascot for AGE (airospace ground epuipment), I think thay had a desert snake or something like that, well I had just the mascot in mind and a wrench bending mouse, a lot better than some snake or bird,

And they loved it, better that a snake who can not grab a wrench to fix nothing, most people who see it say " Hey I know her thats whats her name".

Nice idea for the mouse mascot. You are the little guys (and girls) who keep our titanium birds where they belong, out east kicking Iraqi rear end.
I may see if I can get a job in Area 51. Just a thought albeit a crazy one. I avoid most other people, and I get to work with the real latest technology.
For the record, the real Area 51 deals with creating the top secret aircraft, not aliens.

Yeh just to let you all know that "furry" can be a moral booster here, another freedom in that we enjoy, in answer to that, yes war has changed, this is not the "cold War" and we at Edwards AFB and other test faculties must adapt and we test new weapons systems to fight the new type of war, and believe me we are working hard at it, for our troops :)
As far as a job in Area 51 ca`nt help, what happens there is way beyound my clearance.

Where will it be held at? I would like to see the air show if it wasn't on a school day.

It was just a stupid thought. I also hear they lock the workers in there during the workday. The only times they are let out is when they are testing some technology outside or when it's time for their trip home (airplane of course). I also don't relish the idea of being locked in a windowless cubicle all day long. Come to think of it, I don't look forward to spending my day in any cubicle.

So for the air show, where will it be held at? I want to see the air show if it isn't on a school day that is. I only went to one air show when I was 7 or 8. Five years from now, I haven't been to one since! I hope I can go.
Got me there, sorry I got to blabbing again, it`s the 28 and 29 of october.

LOL, I heard that somewhere, I always wondered if NIMH treated their workers that way, as they treat the mice and rats with never ending DNA up-grades :?

The workers don't have to be treated that way. They want to torture poor, helpless rodents. Those are a subspecies of human called scientus sadisticalious.
Don't forget the music. I have been tp a few and they always play "Danger zone"
