Been Away for Awhile...

Sorry I have not written in awhile. I was in the hospital for a surgical procedure and unfortunately, there were some complications. I'm out of the hospital now and I'm on the mend. The healing process will no doubt be slow, but with a little bit of luck, I should be back to my old self fairly soon. I look forward to reading and contributing information to this forum in the future...

You could say that it was something like that. During my stay in the hospital, I picked up a particularly nasty little bacterial infection that affected the healing of the wound that was made during the initial procedure. I attribute this to improper care taken during the handling of the wound durng dressing changes (failure to properly wash one's hands). At one point I actually witnessed a nurse with a hole in her glove manipulate the dressing on the wound. I just wish I had said something sooner but I guess I was still somewhat out of it due to the painkillers and anesthesia I was given. I just hope that if any of you have to do a stint in the hospital, you do not go through what I did.

Not too bad. There is some tenderness at the immediate area, but nothing too serious. Like I said before, the healing process will be slow, but with time, I should be back to normal in short order.

The original surgery was for a painful intestinal blockage. Believe me when I say that the kind of pain I endured was something that I would not wish on my worst enemy.

I hope that the card is not to gody, I`m about the same age as you and medical problems seem to be a part of life (my body is falling apart), my roomate`s father passed away with such a Blockage, but thank God your still here to enjoy more of life. :D
