Has anyone out there heard of any new projects in the works from Don Bluth & company? I hope he hasn't thrown in the towel in despair for this would be a great loss.
Just Wondering.....

He's working on some projects, but nothing like a major movie release I don't think. If you check his website and his "Ask Us" section every now and then it gives you an idea what they're upto.
Right now the main problem is funding, with the way traditional animation is right now it's hard. If he had the funding he'd like to do a movie of Dragon's Lair.

People have also asked him about HD-DVD releases, he doesn't know if anything is planned, but it would be nice for proper release of NIMH on an HD-DVD, where this time MGM can't get away with a half done job. Don Bluth also would have no problem contributing to special features, but like in the past, they MGM doesn't let it happen. But it would be amazing, with the way they can do special features with these new formats, overlaying video of behind the scenes or the director while you are watchin the actual movie, not just commentary on a scene.
Who owns MGM, is that part of Sony, then it might be Blu-ray if it's ever released in HD.

Hey TimothyB.,
Thanks for the info.... As to your comments re. a re-rlease of this movie on HD-DVD, I myself would love to see this happen. But before this can take place, I would think that there would have to be a radical change in management over at MGM/UA.
Peace :D :D
