YEEEEEES!! :D School is off and fun is in!
Take your shorts and the sunglasses cause it's beach time! Errr... yeah it's summer around my side of the planet
Kinda weird the Christmas in summer, especially for poor Santa Claus who have to going through the chimneys in a polar suit with 90ºF
Anyway, my plan by the moment is to enjoy the holiday freedom and catch up with my friends around the beaches the night parties and maybe a trip to the amazing Brazil Carnival. I went last year and my God was an experience to remember 8) , hope I can go this year too. :)
Well, hope you all enjoy the holidays as much as I, and wish you Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. :)
Have fun!

My Christmas is almost over as far as the festivities. I have one wedding to go to, presents to share and open, and two family dinners, and then it'll be me glued to my computer chair writing two novels and two fan-fics before school starts again.
I just finished off a string of 6 Christmas parties in a row, three of which were held at my house, so I'm a little burned out on holiday oddities and "white elephant" gift exchanges.
Hope everyone has a very merry Christmas, ot other celebrated holiday. God bless!

Wow!, parties and time on the beach, lots going on guys, wish I could be with you all, I`ve been sick and just got back to work today, still a little weak, but made it.
My weak hands did a post here and there back then, and I missed a lot of the fun things going on here in SO CAL. In the end if I can`t make it to a party, I can always look back to the birth of our savior and rest in the wonder of it all, that was aways to me, Jesus, who I always thought was the true HOLIDAY of this time of year.
Merry Christmas to all :D

Hmmm...you do know that Yesha's birthday is more close to April right? Or, have you not heard? Christmas is on December by tradition due to the times of Rome and persecution. Shephards also do not guide their flocks in winter.
Not to mention, the entire aspect of the Christmas tree forms from the concept of Yule, which is a pagan tradition that celebrates the rebirth of the Sun King.
>.> I hope I'm not seeming to be a flamer. Just things I know regarding the holiday.
But there is one thing, Whiskers, I do heavily disagree with concerning Christmas. How it has become such a corporate sales event. I work at Movie Gallery, and they don't let employees have Christmas off. No, I have to work for 5 hours. -.- Same thing with Thanksgiving and every other holiday out there.

You are quite true, and these are of very good works of some theologians, and I`ve heard this before and agree, the christmas tree, spring time in his brith I agree with, but even when the wise men visited, as was said in matthew they came into the house and saw the child. House?, child? not a manger, baby, it can be wearing.
Tho not my intent to throw history (or the theory of) for a loop, or to set a timeline that no one is 100% sure of, and some are closer than others in this search.
My meaning was that this time of year along with most churches we inlight with the fact that God did intervene with his Son in to the history of man, as the Prophets had known beforhand (some time during "that" year) to work his great plan in the salvation of men, this time of year reminds me of that most of all, and the world may do what may in their own delight in this matter of christmas.
Wow! they don`t give you guys much time off on holidays, I work for the DOD, they give us about 13 days off a year (not for sure 13 days but it`s lots) for holidays.
BTW you are not flamming, subjects as this, help others to dig in and make their own choice and I learn alot also :)

I'm glad I'm not being seen as flaming--everywhere else where I discuss this topic I get blamed for flaming when I'm not.

Holy Holidays!
Watch out... you don't want the ACLU getting on your case! haha... just kidding... Isn't that ridiculous how it's become offensive to say merry Christmas nowadays? In a Washington Library they said they'd allow someone to erect a manger scene on city property, but ONLY if it didn't have baby Jesus in it. At some California schools they've made it almost illegal to say Merry Christmas and call christmas trees 'holiday tree's, well, never mind, I don't want to go off any further on some tangent, I'm sure everyone's heard about all this stuff, it's so insane... What is this world coming to?
What we should all do is write Christmas cards and send them to the ACLU.
I've thought about sending some "nice" cards (or letters) to the ACLU before, but i'm sure they get enough of that kind of stuff that the don't pay attention anymore.
Christmas has become a too commercialized lately. I think Charlie Brown said it best: "OH NO! Even my own dog's gone commercial! AHHHH!" Really, though, we don't have anyone but ourselves for this. If we didn't make such a huge deal out of buying gifts and stuff for each other, then corperate America wouldn't have a market to sell on, like fireworks to the fourth of july, and candy to halloween. Of course i write this as i watch the Dukes of Hazzard christmas special on CMT.
On a different note, i had a short nimh based christmas story that i had wanted to see if i could get up on the web before christmas, but things came up and i just finished it and i really need someone to look it over. At this point i'm shooting just to see if i can, in fact, get it posted maybe in the next few weeks. Anyway, if anyone would be willing to give it a look over, drop me a line (Ftfotta@aol.com).

Yeh I know, and the ACLU is making a list and checking it twice, but it does not stop at the schools, I work at the Edwards air force flight test center and we are just starting to be hit by this also (not going to go in to great detail at this time). I must say that Bill O`Reilly said it best "I do`nt mind or care if you say "Happy Holidays" if thats your thing, but just do`nt stop me from saying "Merry Christmas".

I have just finished a step in my stress-avoidance-program and will be soon on the way to the service on Christmas eve. So I can´t take part in this discussion at present.
For the time being I wish everybody a merry Christmas. :D

Here here!
I'd say that Christmas has the meaning one gives it; though we may lament the commercialization and secularization of the holiday, no one can take away the meaning that it has for oneself. That said, Merry Christmas, everyone! :)
