Hey!
I'm bored, so I thought I'd bug you guys. lol On Nimh Muck, I have two characters that are based on characters from other series. The first one is Cluny, (from Redwall) and the other is Ellision (from a comic book series called Tall Tails.) Although in the comic series Ellision is an evil wizard, on NIMH Muck I'm planning to have him as the kind of guy who tries to help people. As for Cluny, he was my first bad guy, though not my first attemp at playing a bad guy. twisted Heres my question
What exactly do you think of characters from other series being re-created for NIMH Muck ?

It's good, as long as you make it where the characters you are using aren't THE same characters from whatever project they came from and claiming it as your character, that would be stealing.

However, like what you've stated, that's ok, everybody needs an inspiration every once and a while. It's also very creative to take a character from something else and mix it with your own character ideas.

Personally, I'm a stickler for originality where possible. While I don't have a problem with taking some inspirational points from an existing character, I don't like the idea of merely transplanting them from one place to another. As Maxx mentioned, mixing things up with your own character ideas is good too, but I think that if you're going to change the character that way anyway, you might as well pick a new name for them and make them more completely your own.

Just my $.02.
