Domo!
Okay. I wrote this in my introduction but I am a fan of the "Johnathan and Mrs. Brisby" combination (Not the Justin and Mrs. Brisby combination :D ) Here's a question I wrote 'cause I wanted to know what you think...
"How, when, where, and why do you think Johnathan and Mrs. Brisby met each other?"
Just curious...
I mean really. Until Johnathan died they two mice were happily married. Johnathan has a big secret that for a reason he couldn't comfess to his wife. They had four children but on the other hand Johnathan was (probably) still working with the rats inside the rosebush (I've read a few fanfics about this topic)
But what was the main reason and event that put Johnathan and Mrs. Brisby (whatever her first name is...) together?
Yoroshiku!

Heh... Tons of wild conjecture here, since it's not addressed at all in the movie, and the book only says a bit about them meeting by the brook where their summer home is. There are a couple of fan-fics that talk a bit about how they got together (although my favorite, Mrs. Frisby and Nicodemus, is no longer online), but all-in-all, I don't find it really that surprising that Jonathan would try to find a mate. He's basically all alone, save for the company of Mr. Ages--that by itself would drive me to find more pleasent company. The main thing that might keep him seperate would be the whole living longer thing, but the mind is excellent at rationalizing and excusing things, plus he's probably got to deal with the inherent illogic that arises from love. ;) As for Mrs. Brisby, I doubt it was anything more complex than simply falling in love--which is complex enough by itself, I suppose.
I guess I'm of the opinion that it wasn't some tremendous star-crossed lovers Romeo-and-Juliet sort of drama. It was just a natural falling in love. The rest, in my mind, is peripheral.
Apologies if that didn't make any sense. :/
