Hi all.
I didn't really know where else to stick this topic but I'm glad I found this place. I saw SON a few years ago and I don't remember that much of it but with a place like this and SON in my collection of dvds I'll remember quickly.
Anway, I also have a question for the group. Does any one know of any Land Before Time forums like this? I'm hoping to find one so I can also discuss my other fav. Bluth film like this. Bluth's films have a very dark but very beautiful "soul" I guess you could say to them. The hero gets a reward but not a "happily ever after" end and not without undergoing a sort of suffering or trial the likes of which Disney would rarely touch.

P.S. I think LBT 1 was the only worthwhie one worth watching, the unholy "sequels" disgrace the name of the film. Any one agree?

Well, Disney had a lot of moments, but these days those moments are very few. Anyway, I like how bluth not only makes his animated movies for kids, but emotional and animated experience for older ages.

Totally, the rest were just pitiful attempts at making money, even as a kid at the age of 7 or 8 I lost interest fast around LBT 4 where all the singing took place (sad memories of NIMH 2). With all the monstrocities such as LBT 2 through..whatever, sometimes I wonder when the big meteorite is going to come down and maybe end the dreadful series.

Well, a quick google search didn't turn up anything... But in any case, this is probably one of the better places to discuss Bluth's films. Most of us are also fans of Bluth (at least to some extent), so feel free to discuss it if you'd like. If other Bluth films become a major enough topic, I might create a seperate forum for it.

If anyone else would like to point out a forum I missed that's more Bluth/LBT specific, feel free to add a link below.

Thanks Simon.
Always glad to talk film with fellow fans. Sad that now the studious feel obligated to beat us over the head with morals rather than tell the story and let us figure out the moral on our own. I was wondering if any one picked out any type of moral in SoN and I'm sure they were all over the place. One I got was "The love a parent for it's kids is stronger than any fear of the parent."
Of course Mrs. Brisby was scared beyond belief as seen in the Great Owl meeting but she knew that it had to be done. To me we need more characters like that to inspire kids to want to emulate the spirit as opposed to these 1-D cardboard cutouts that we get in the sequel.
Finally what do you think a good movie needs to have to be good for you?
