Happy St. Patrick´s day for all of you too.

The origins of Saint Patrick´s day is in the practice of the catholic church to assign a day to each person they beatify or canonize as a day of worship for this specially honored servant of God.
Saint Patrick was a great christian missionary in Ireland and he got the 17. March as his day. Because he is also the national patron of Ireland, his day is a national holyday for the Irish in the whole world.

P.S: This was the first time that someone posted while I wrote a post. It seems that I´m still a internet newbie because I think more in direct information than in page links. So thank you for the link Simon, it gives more information that I can provide.

Hehe... I'm Irish too. Very Irish. My Grandmother's maiden name is O'rear.

...Although I've never drank guiness, and I don't start fights, in fact, I'm a total wuss when it comes to fighting. That's why I stay out of that whenever possible.

As far as I know it, I have no Irish blood in me. My parents, grandparents and great-grandparents are not from the green isle, although they are mostly catholic.
I had the information that I posted in my head and just checked some of the facts if I had remembered them right.
