Description: Here's (roughly) the starting point. Any animator/cartoon artist will recognize this sphere, with a horizontal circle marking the eyeline and the vertical one showing where the middle of the face is. I had already added the eyes and muzzle at this point (obviously), but he still looks like a bald-headed alien. Violet must've got to him. ;)

Description: My first (more or less) original piece of NIMH fan art. I used DB's picture of Timothy in [url=http://www.thornvalley.com/gallery/fan/v/db/Pretty+Good.jpg.html]Pretty Good[/url] as the primary reference here. Since I thought it'd also be fun to show the progress I made as I drew this, I also added a few images showing my progress. In this sketch I finished by adding Tim's neck and shoulders, giving him some clothes, darkening the lines and adding some shading. I could probably do more, but I basically did this to prove to myself that I can. Of course, now the trick is to be able to figure out how to do it without relying on a specific reference.

Description: I'm working on drawing bodies, now. Tim's perspective is /really/ hard to draw. Not quite full frontal, and not quite 3/4s. I'm really fond of how Jenny turned out, though. One of these days, I ought to learn how to ink. Or maybe use colored pencil. I can color on computer, but I kind of like the organic, sketchy texture that I get with pencil. It especially seems to work well for suggesting fur, something that line-art and cell-shading doesn't do quite as well. Special thanks to DB for the drawing reference for mice. Jenny's markings are somewhat inspired by his own version of Jenny, though I ultimately decided to take a slightly different direction with her. Tim, I've decided, looks rather boring without any clothes on. n.n;
